Post by: Rantings on September 19, 2003, 01:13:29 AM
on the side of your body, inside slightly, inside a lot. My comfort zone is the side of my body.

Your elbow should be at the side of your body, to allow for a straight pendulum armswing. That's probably old school, but it's still the proper way in my opinion.

With the game the way it is today, you almost don't need an elbow..!! =:^D

I agree with Superman.

We have a guy in our league who is a once or twice a week bowler.

It is a high scoring condition but he can really bring it.

He swears by his method of tucking his elbow in the middle of his stomach and his hand outside his body.

He claims it allows him to keep his elbow in.  He just missed 800 this week and shoots many a 760+ in our league and is not a premier spare maker!

Many feel they have a balance problem when they hold the ball off to the side of their body and much prefer to hold it in front of their body. Others with good strength have no trouble holding the ball off to the side.

Sawbones,

Could this be due to the fact that some bowlers keep their feet together (easier to be off-balance) and others will have their feet a few inches apart, creating better balance?
