Just a question to ask among ballreviews users.

Where do you bowlers target on the lane? Dots, Arrows, Pins, Breakpoint?

I do understand that moving you eyes down lane will help to get you ball more length.

But I have heard from different coaches and PBA players , different things. So I assume that its what best works for the individual.

But with the centers today that I bowl in, it seems that there is less oil ,and or the balls are just getting stronger. That targeting your breakpoint or around 40 feet seems to help these days.

I use the arrows/boards between. I used to use the dots, but found myself looking down and settin the ball short. Last week, I tried the breakpoint, but without a fixed mark, I wasn't very successful.

good question...i used to look at the arrows, then started too look at the dots and now i just went back too looking at the arrows. everyone has a preference. I have noticed when i look at the arrows I get a better fallow through on my shot oppose to short stroking the ball looking at the dots. Why this is im not sure. Maybe the belief that with the arrows Im actually extending through my target better since its further down lane...

im interested in what others have to say as well.

Normally throw at the arrows, unless I need to be a bit tighter in my spot, then I switch to the dots.

I find it is harder to hit a spot further down the lane, so the dots or arrows are a better choice for me.

Arrows / Board i'm targeting at arrows if it isn't 5-10-15 etc..

Breakpoint. It's the most important area on the lane, and the further down the lane I look, the more balanced I am at the foul line because I'm less likely to lean over at my waist.

Depends on the ball reaction I am looking for, but to start out, I look at the arrows, and move my eyes up and down the lane depending on reaction wanted.

Wherever the ball traveled is where I must have targeted.

I use the arrows and the break point when things are going right though.

I target my break point then draw a line back tot he arrows and throw the ball down that path.

It is easier to roll over the dot I am looking at, but when using the dots, I bend forward too far in trying to reach out to them and lose leverage in doing that, so I use the arrows instead.

I use both arrow/board and break point. one of the coach mention using dot but I tend to fell off the shot and loosing my leverage at the foul line. Every bowler have their own preference... so do what you are comfortable with.

I use arrows for strike ball and pins for spares. If its a single pin I target the pin shadow.
