Where to get quarter scale at reasonable price?
« on: July 04, 2003, 04:47:34 PM »
While I will not be drilling anything, I want to get a better idea about some measurements about placing pins closer to the PAP, among other things. I was looking online and saw only one place to buy a Quarter scale, but it was $40.00.

I saw my driller's scale and it looks like 2 joined pieces of plastic with ruler markings that cover a quarter of the ball in width and half the ball in length. Why is this simple thing so darn expensive?

Anyone know where I can get one reasonably? (No, I didn't say cheaply!)

I saw one at Innovative Bowling, but can't recall where else I saw it.

Thanks.

charlest, At Jayhawk Turbo Pro Sect $52.95, the other they have listed is a plain Quarter scale, not near as heavy or durable as the Turbo Sect $41.00.

Classic Products  Turbo Pro Sect $58.95, plain Quarter Scale $29.00

Innovative Turbo Pro Sect  $49.95, plain Quarter Scale  $28.00 .

All the Quarter Scales listed above are very light as compared to the Turbo Pro Sect.

Supply and demand, economies of scale (pun intended).  How many quarter scales can they sell?  It has to be worth someone's while to make them.

Forty bucks doesn't sound like a lot to me, but I've only been bowling again for three years, so maybe I haven't had time to become a cheap bowler.

Try pricing Pitch Gauges. Perfect Pitch Gauges are something like $125-$130 for a set of 3.......Then there are the Jonnell Pitch Gauges which are the most accurate for something like $229 for a set of two.

So that reply by Seadrive must have really cut deep.

Deep, but cheep - lee! (A quadruple innuendo ... ) never mind.

More seriously, an inmate of our asylum has graciously offered to sell me one. Thanks to all. And I did get off cheaply (a simple double innuendo.).

Should I lock this or let every play the "innuendo game"?

(Of course, I am not pchee2; not smart enough.)
