I have a friend who bowls in two leagues. Averages over 200 in both leagues (I think 203 and 206). He bowled last year as a SUB in a league (I think he said 6 games) two nights. His average for the six games was 224. He wants to enter a couple of handicap tournaments and is not sure if he has to use the 224 average or not.

I don't bowl handicap tournaments except for States so I don't know what he should do. Is six games enough to determine an average for tournaments or is it a higher number of games? Say he bowled 12 games as a SUB in that league.

After looking on bowl.com, it would seem to me that 6 games is not enough to qualify that average as "legal".

  There were several different time frames mentioned for different things ( such as awards, etc..) with the lowest number of games beng mentioned for anything at 12 games.

  Most tournaments will "Re-Rate" you if you bowl a significant amount over your stated average anyway.
