Oil breaking down
« on: October 29, 2008, 01:56:52 PM »
The oil my local house is using this year breaks down in a more dramatic fashion than that of last season.

Last week, we made it through the first game, then kept making drastic moves to keep up with the evaporating oil line.

This week, in an attempt to curb the breakdown of oil, they incresed the loads (minimally) and the length of the pattern (only by a couple feet). By slowing down a bit, moving right a bit (righty), or both, there was still a decent shot the first two games. By the third game, they were hooking about the same as they were the week before.

So would you rather...

1.) Start off with a cake line the first game, then have to keep up with a rapidly changing line for the second two games.

or...

2.) Start off with a slicker pattern that starts hooking late in the second game.

Personally, I do a little better with the first scenario, but I really enjoyed having something different thrown at me this week. I understand it's a matter of the center finding a shot that works for the majority. That said, I wish we could change it up from time to time. I like being kept on my toes
