I got a reply from ESPN about the bowling game

Back on December 29th I sent an e-mail to ESPN about a bowling videogame.  Here is what I sent:

Subject: Bowling Game

The online bowling community has been buzzing around the idea of a GOOD bowling game for the XBOX.  ESPN has made quality sports games, and we think the idea of a bowling game would be great.  ESPN televises the PBA tour and there should be a good promotion connection between the two.

We have thrown around ideas of having create-a-ball and create-a-bowler, having an actual career mode where you would have to train and win tournaments, and most importantly, ONLINE PLAY!  We believe the ability of XBOX LIVE Online play would be great.  Online tournaments could be held by anyone and everyone.

I just thought I would pass this idea on to ESPN.  A bowling game would be great!!!!

Thanks for your time,

Corey N. Davis

Here is what I got back today:

I guess it fell on deaf ears.  Next step is EA Games.

What they mean is that they don't pass on unsolicited ideas to the guys responsible for developing new games, for fear of being sued by someone who says they stole his idea.

If that was obvious, I apologize.

That is a cut and paste reply to any submissions that they receive about new game ideas.  They have to do that to protect themselves from lawsuits and the like.

If they took your idea and decided to make a game out of it, you could turn around and sue them (with the appropriate facts of course) for stealing YOUR idea.

ALL game company's do the same thing when presented with intellectual property of others (ie game ideas, concepts, stories, etc)

Err what seadrive said also
