Title: Which cover is the most DURABLE?
Post by: bowlbeginner on January 11, 2006, 02:42:32 AM
Which coverstock is the most durable?
Particle balls seem to die out quicker, so please suggest reactive resin balls.

Thanks!

I've heard the soaker coverstocks from Dynothane last quite some time...

You can have long-lasting particles, the Lanemasters Diamond Particle is supposed to last a very long time.

For reactive covers, probably Soaker.  Activator is also supposed to be a very long-lasting coverstock, but there have been a few folks on here talking about their AIs dying out.  Seems odd to me, given everything I've heard.

For me and I haven't used everything out there it's the DT Soaker.

PK18.

How many times does this get asked in a year?

Jeez...sorrrry!  I was just referencing the two guys I know with V2s that have well over 600 games each on them.  I thought that was pretty durable, but what do I know??

D/T Soaker is probably the most durable, based on wood lanes in need of refinishing where we are the D/T do not need near the maintenance the other mfger seem to need.

That's good to know, as I do my majority of bowling on nasty old wood lanes.

The Black Vendetta is actually what I'm looking to pick up.  Sounds like a great piece!

I'd have to agree from my experience that just about anything with a Dynothane badge is going to last longer than most people will use a ball...

THE ACTIVATOR COVERSTOCKS!!!
Have 3 infernos.
Intense for about 2 years
Original for about 1 1/2
Smokin for about 1 month

only some VERY VERY minor scratches(those ones that are invisible until you shine a flashlight at straight it) on my Intense, nothing else on anything else.

--------------------
Its hard to play with an inferno and not get burned. Last time I threw my inferno, the opposing bowler definitely got burned.

Check the Dynothane website.  The Vendetta series does not have the Soaker coverstock, only their top line balls do.  --  JohnP

From what I've seen and heard, I would probably vote for the Activator coverstock. I never hold on to a ball long enough to know, personally.
