Ok, here it is...

Heavy- DIesel Particle
Light(er)- Thing Returns
Spare ball
Medium-  BOOM, where everything blows up (that means nothing)

Ok, so give me an idea for the medium spot.  Work with me here, I haven't been on in over a month, so I have no idea what kind of new balls are coming out.  I'm guessing a particle pearl or a solid reactive, but I don't really know what's good, or anything new...

I'd love to try a particle pearl.  I've had my eye on that Depth Charge, I've wanted to try Storm......anyone have feedback on this ball that isn't a review?

So, fire away!

unless the thing returns is drilled very weak, i dont see you being able to use it on light oil due to the fact that the rg is pretty low and the coverstock strong, even though its a pearl. if it is as weak as you say though, and you would like to try a particle pearl, i would say pick up an eraser particle pearl and drill it 4 x 4.5. this should give it more length then the diesel, and should really let you see what a particle pearl is capable of. the eraser is one of the most popular balls in my area, even though it is older, and i have liked the reaction i've seen with others throwing the ball.

i have only thrown one particle pearl, a rock star, and was very impressed with it until the lane machine ate it. i ended up getting a command zone arc which was one of the best balls i have ever had. i see particle pearls as being similar to solid reactive balls, but that is just my opinion. as for a solid reactive choice, i would go with an original inferno. very solid ball, and if it is a little weak, you can always dull the surface a little.

Yeah, the TR isn't very weak, but there is just too much of a gap between it and the diesel, you know?  It's kinda my medium ball that I could use for lighter oil if I need to, but I need something for solid medium to medium-heavy, to fit inbetween the TR and diesel.

I've heard good things about the EPP.......maybe I'll get that or the DC......

Anyone else?

now i understand what you mean more. yes the epp would work, and the depth charge according to the numbers should be stronger.

Highly recommend the Eraser Pearl Particle if you are looking for a good medium oil ball, can even handle medium/lights and some medium/heavy action (I think if it's a short oil condition moreso than long oil). You can see how I have mine drilled in my profile- it's more of a skid/flip ball but since I got it in March it's been my go to ball 95% of the time for all the league and tournament action I've been in.

My humble suggestion for Mediums...

Track Phenom Unleashed.

One of the best hitting balls out there period.  Very responsive to surface changes and can easily be the benchmark ball in your arsenal........

How can being so RIGHT be so very WRONG?
They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.

You guys are making this too hard.  Unless you're a serious tournament bowler, get a somewhat aggressive resin or light load particle for medium to med/heavy, a moderate hooking pearl resin for medium to med/light and a spare ball.  Keep it cheap until you really get you form/style "nailed" down.  If you can get some used stuff cheap and get it drilled for your hand reasonable, go ahead and experiment, just don't go overboard.  It will just lead to confusion that will delay your improvement.
