Title: Which is stronger?
Post by: strikestriketapped on May 11, 2009, 09:31:25 AM
Which would be stronger:

Resurgence - 4 1/4" pin to PAP, pin over ring. 1000 abralon.

Virtual Gravity - 4 1/4" pin to PAP, pin over ring. MB 5" pin to PAP. 1000 abralon.

I have the Virtual now, and for some reason it seems like it just isn't that strong. I tried using it on a long pattern with decent volume, and the Attitude Shift out performed it. I was thinking of possibly selling it, and maybe picking up a used one later on with the pin under the ring finger instead. Would the Resurgence be stronger or weaker than the Virtual? Thanks.

It all depends on what your view of stronger is.  If you are wondering if you will be able to stand further left with the resurgence swing is out and have it come back better than the virtual, then probably not.  The Resurgence is a heavy rolling piece so will handle oil better on a bit of a tighter line as it will not motor in the back like the virtual seems to do.

ill add another idea for heavy oil, the Rogue Cell, versatile, and with its hybrid cover stock you can make it a pearl with polish or a solid when you add more surface

or check out something like the break point or the break s75 or the bounty by 900 global, there good stuff also

With my revs, I couldn't swing it on real oil with any ball. My rev rate is around 250-275. On heavy and long patterns, I usually stand with my left foot on the 10 board and play straight up. The Virtual wasn't cutting it. Not interested in another ball, it's just Resurgence vs Virtual Gravity.

With that description on how you play the lanes the resurgence will probably work out better for you as it'll roll heavier and smoother allowing you to keep that tighter line on heavier oil without the ball squirting through the oil too much.  Also remember you can always scuff the ball up until the end of practice.
