Simple question, which value priced ball with a core would be better for broken down patterns. I am looking for something to go under my Supernova XP for when it is hard to keep on the right side. Both are interesting pieces, mind that Orbit extreme is $30 dollars cheaper which is always a plus. Thanks

I think the Avalanche is better for dry. It has a weaker cover, a higher avg. RG and a lower RG differential. In fact, I think they could almost be goto balls the OEP is about 1/2 notch stronger than the AP. Wait for further confirmation from others.

Never thrown the Orbit Extreme, but I can vouch for the Avalanche's ability to handle dry. However, the Av Pearl starts up quicker and is smoother at the break than you might expect, so if the drier conditions that you see require you to play for more recovery, you might want to add a polished Avalanche Solid to your list of balls to consider.
