Not that me being in the money of any tournament is ever a question , but last night we found out the "final" results of the county tourneys we participated in.

Let me preface by saying that for several weekends, Hall of Famers, big house guys, home house guys, and major lifetime achievers were paraded out weekend after weekend (maybe 4 weekends?) on this Kegel Tournament pattern and not one 700 was shot.  699 was high, by a certain future Hall of Famer.

Now here we go into the last weekend, the last squad.  2 home house guys all of a sudden shoot over 700, taking singles and doubles titles (doubles I'm not 100% sure about, but singles I am sure) and the team scratch number goes down.  All I can say is that there were some unhappy bowlers last night.  Maybe some of it is "sour grapes", maybe some of it is coincidence, maybe some of it is the result of bowling on the pattern several times in the competitions over the weekends.

Would this sit OK with the bowlers out there?  Me personally, I think it is all on the up and up.  I know the board members and don't think any shadow of impropriety exists.  But, I can certainly see the perception.

Your thoughts?

biggest reason here that local guys from the host house cannot shoot the last weekend of tourney, to avoid the accusations,

Well we had the county handicap doubles tourney this past weekend. My partner and I were sitting in 2nd place after 4 squads with one squad to go. We had 1610 and high was 1678.

In come the two guys who won it last year. 181 & 190 average. They shoot 246/279 first game, 221/279 second, then had double, spare, strike/4 in a row when I left. 1199 after two with handicap. They needed 393 scratch the last game to win again. Considering the anchor didn't miss the pocket for 28 straight frames I think they got it.

Problem is they bowl in a crappy house and have a lower average. The tourney is in the highest scoring house in the state and they shot well over average.

Same thing with myself. I'd easily be 15 pins higher in average in that house.

It happens.

No offense, but waaaaaaa!!!!!  Would someone have said something if these guys weren't home players???  I think not, so what truly is the difference???

Now, if you are insinuating that the shot was not the same as the previous weekends, then there would be an issue.  The only way to know that is by having been there bowling on the condition the same day.

trigger,
So you are saying that local bowlers from the house can't bowl the last weekend???  How unfair is that???  Maybe it would happen to be the only weekend they would be able to bowl.  Yikes.  I know you are just reporting the facts, so this isn't an attack on you, but I know I would raise the question with my association if that was a rule.
