what am i missing?
« on: March 06, 2005, 08:59:29 PM »
i want to know what everyone thinks of mr arsenal, and want to know if u guys think anything over laps, or if u have any gaps.

sharp blade(800 grit dull)-stack drilling with pin next to ring finger, play between first and fourth arrow
saw blade-(1200 grit polished)-drilled 45 degree pin next to ring, more length and flip playing up the lane
throttle up- 800 polish, 45 degrees pin next to and above ring, hook the lane, standing on left, throwing out to third arrow
got an x-factor comming that is 800 polish, that is being drilled today to go long and flip.
and i have a spare ball.

do you guys think i am missing anything?
o yeah, i use teh sharp blade on medium oil-heavy oil, saw blade med-light oil, throttle up medium oil, and i dont know about the x-factor yet.

Must be spares or your mark. You should pretty much know you have a hole in your arsenal if you can't make adjustments with current group and score. I apologize for sounding harsh. I get tired of these posts worrying about equipment. Equipment is not the answer the bowler is. Spend money worthwhile and go to a qualified coach or clinic. Holes in arsenals usually are hard to determine as we do not know what conditions you throw on. You work in a shop heed the information you can get there as developing an understanding or foundation for what type of ball you need.

When building an "arsenal" it also depends on the needs of you as a bowler.  Are you a league bowler that only bowls in 2 or fewer houses, or are you getting ready to go out on tour and bowl from state to state (or even country to country), or are you somewhere in between?

IMHO, if you're bowling in leagues in a couple of houses, you likely don't need much more than two balls plus maybe a spare ball.  Heading out on tour, you may as well give all of your house stuff to your younger brother and seek the advice of a ball rep.

Kill the back row (or maybe this should read "make your spares, dummy")
