Who makes the best balls on the market right now
« on: October 11, 2016, 08:24:49 PM »
I hear bowlers talk about how they don't like a certain company or I can't sell any balls from this certain company etc etc etc... I also here that if you are good enough, you could score with anything and that all companies make good stuff. Just out of curiosity which company do you like/dislike and why? Which company top to bottom (Dry to Heavy Oil) has the best lineup?

I have numerous balls from all the major manufacturers; but I prefer Motiv.  Quality product (very rarely crack or need to be de-oiled) and being made in the USA is a additional plus.

Couldn't really carry with some of their greats. Like the widow line.

Did the jigsaws, missions...

Had every single track ball after their buyout. Risings, kenetics....

Then the cell came out..never looked back.

Got 300s #2-25 with Utah made equipment...and all my 800s. Got me over the hump u could say.

I personally prefer Brunswick.  Their Mastermind series has had great success as well as their Nirvana series.  I am looking forward to trying out their new Quantum series this evening.

On the topic of bashing Brunswick for being manufactured in Mexico, my opinion is that I do not believe in buying from a company just because they manufacture their products in the USA.  I have yet to find a major company who truly cares about their employees.  It is all about the all mighty dollar and how to maximize profit.  It doesn't matter what country that company is based in.

So in that respect, when it comes to spending MY dollar, I will use it to purchase the BEST product, with no regard to WHERE it is manufactured.

"There are still plenty of jobs out there?"  That sir, is an ignorant statement. I just had to lay off 20 of my US team, and 100 up North are gone from other groups, and 70 more in other groups are being laid off before Christmas. Jobs are not plentiful, and I have others who have been looking for > 1 year. If we keep ignoring "buy USA", we are in trouble...
SOrry to rant, but that is the most head in the sand attitude I've heard in a while.

It's not ignorance at all. I didn't say that jobs were thriving in ALL fields. Clearly economies go up and down, but this has been happening in cycles for decades (if not more). That does not mean there aren't jobs out there.

You can't simply blame it on where things are made - certainly not when it comes to manufacturing bowling balls. No industry is going to thrive forever - that is just reality. But there are still plenty of jobs out there. That's also reality.

Most used:
Motiv Venom Shock (14)
DV8 Grudge Hybrid (14)
Hammer Scandal (14)
DV8 Freakshow (14)

Sometimes.
C300 Swerve (14)
Motiv Jackal LE (14)

Retired:
Roto Grip Sinister (13)
Motiv Jackal (14)

Given to a no-thumber in the club:

Might stick with Motiv from now on.

No bad balls, only bad bowlers!

I have no real preference in terms of manufacturers. There is a lot of quality stuff being sold out here these days.

In my arsenal right now: Roto-Grip, Storm, AMF, PBS and Track. If my house should suddenly change oil volumes, or change the shot, I'd go into my laboratory, switch out my arsenal to: Brunswick, Lane#1, AZO, Lane Masters and Columbia in a heartbeat!

My teammate owns mostly Radical, and I throw his stuff better than he does! But, I already have enough equipment for my needs!

No bad balls, only bad bowlers!
Some days you're the bug....some days you're the windshield...that's bowling!

I throw all Motiv but I believe that any company can good balls and overstocks. It all comes down to the person throwing the ball, how you drill it and how you prep the overstock.

Regardless of company or performance line, whatever core/cover combo that matches up to you, which could be any company.
