Who uses the Griip Glove?

I'm just curious about who uses this glove and how they like it or not like it.

I researched and only found a hand full of reviews. It seems like it's not as popular as I thought. I don't plan on using one even though I flirted with the idea. But, any device on my hand takes away the feel that I prefer. I've used regular gloves before, but they're thin enough for me to feel the ball at the base of my finger(s).  The pad on the palm on the Griip glove looks like it takes away some feel of the ball. I could be wrong, but the strap around the hand makes it seem that way too - take the "feel" factor way.

From the finger issue you described before, it might be of help to you. It might be worth it for you too take a closer look.

xrayjay is a long time member and isn't a troll, so his question is legitimate.
 
A friend if mine bought one online last summer, so I had a chance to try it on. I personally found the palm strap uncomfortable. I couldn't get it tight enough to remove all the slack in the fingers. Overall, it was an awkward glove to have on the hand. I was afraid I would hurt myself if  I actually tried to throw a ball with it….
 
It's one of those accessories you have to try for yourself to evaluate if it's worthwhile. My opinion is that if you have a good grip, it's a waste of money. If you have issues, better to fix the underlying problem than masking it with a questionable band-aid.

Thanks for your take on the glove Steven. Just by the look of the glove, it looks like it'll fly off the hand, but it won't know unless I try it. it's pretty much what a friend had experienced too a couple years ago. The strap issue is concerning to be honest.

FWIW I also tried one. I had 2 problems with it. One, the finger tips are supposed to fit the 31/32" hole in which you normally put your inserts.When I tried it, they didn't fit all the way in I had to open up the holes. Of course, now I can't return to this ball unless I plug and redrill the finger holes. Two, the glove reduced almost all feel and control from my skin and nerves. It was as if my hand was isolated and my nerves couldn't feel what I was doing or wanted to do. I don't know how people said it gave them more revs. This was 4 years ago when the glove first arrived. I just passed it along to another friend who wanted to try it.

Use mine all the time, but mostly for arthritic ring finger, helps take some of the pain away, my middle finger does most the work and the other piece goes on the forefinger.

I still feel and get hand into the ball, just took some getting used to. As far as hole size, taking out the lifts from the ring finger allowed plenty of room for me. I wear another glove over this to help stabilize.

Not for everyone though.

I just watched the promo video . . or as much as I could sit through anyway.  The might as well have said, "Hey, have a bad fit?  Well let's not fix the problem, let's just add a bandaid."  But then again, the older I get and the more gimmicks I see, the more skeptical I get . . it could have an application for some people in certain situations.  I just happen to think that if you can fit someone right, it eliminates the need for stuff like this.

If you have pain in your fingers or joints, its worth trying because it takes a lot of the pressure off of your fingers and joints. Otherwise, I say, don't think it is going to make you a better bowler.

And I still think that can be obtained by a good fit, because nothing is really changing, the mechanics are the same.  I definitely understand what you're saying, I just think that the same result can be obtained by adjusting fit.

The glove offers padding around the fingers that you can not get with a good fit. The fingertips are thick enough to where you can hardly feel that they are in the ball. You have to try the glove to fully understand. 

As for increasing revs or speed-- that's all just hype. Or, at least it was for me.
