I've had this idea floating in my head over the past year that I'd love to see happen if it doesn't already exist, but wanted to toss it around here to see if anyone would be interested in the concept at the very least.
I'm a bit of an aviation buff as well as a history buff, especially since I've been working on a pilot's license for a while now. And one of the sites I visit every so often is The
Abandoned & Little-Known Airfields site, by Paul Freeman. the premise of the site is to show the history of what was an airport, what happened at the field, and the current condition it is in now, as well as its current use.
Well, let's apply that to the bowling world. With all of the recent bowling alley closures, let alone those over the past 30something years, would anyone be interested in a site that chronicles the history of what was a bowling alley, the times there, and what the current state of the place is now? For example, I can go through my hometown and place everywhere I bowled, their location, what went on there, the activity at the time, and the fun people had there, interviews with people who worked there, then a look at what is happening at the site now.
Would someone be interested in a site that tried to chronicle that for every bowling alley that existed in the US?
