Why bowlers will never be taken seriously...
« on: September 24, 2008, 02:28:59 PM »
This is a true story, names and places have been left out to protect the parties involved.
I was at the local bowling center tonight, bowling in a nice friendly adult league.  These two very hot headed opponents were bowling against each other.  As practice began, words were already being exchanged.
Fast forward to an hour and a half and 6 beers later...
Things were becoming more and more heated, and increasingly personal.  Until one bowler made a comment about the other bowlers wife.  The other bowler took great offense to this and pushed the other bowler saying, "You wanna take this outside?!"
The other bowler stared intently into the other bowlers face, only inches from the other man said, "Yea! I think we should!" and shoved him back
then...the infamous words were spoken
"Let me just change my shoes first."
This was in no way an attempt to bring humor into the situation, this was a completely serious statement.
After the center manager put an end to all the insanity, I promptly asked this particular bowler to hand in his man card.

Reminds me of Bruce Lee in Enter the Dragon. When he gets into it with the wrestlers at the gym. Only catch, Bruce took off his socks too.

That's pretty funny, I know I'd have never kept a straight face.

Inquiring minds have to know: did they go out in the parking lot and throw down?

No it didn't get that far, within the next few minutes the manager of the center came down and mediated the situation.

Just as Joey Stack Leverage bends over to untie his Linds Classics, it would have been funny if Johnny Stomp-N-Spray uppercut him with his pro-release....in the cupped position.

Hey shoes can be expensive and after having to post bail it might be hard for awhile to get new ones.

Don't use the cupped position, might break the wrist!
