It never fails with me. Ever since I was about 16, I've had the problem of bowling like crap the front half of the season, and usually a week or two before or after the start of the second half I kick it into gear.
I noticed it when I was 16, I started bowling youth league at a different house (old house was no longer YABA, etc). I missed 2 weeks at the beginning, but at the new year (we bowled september-april/may) my average was 180. By the end of league my average was 199. I somehow managed to bring my average up 19 pins in half a season.
I'm 22 now, last year the same thing happened. I started the second half at 191, ended at 202. I'm not sure what the problem is.
That being said, I'm really thinking of transitioning to a 15 pound ball. Perhaps I don't pick up any REAL consistency until I get used to throwing the ball which takes 16 weeks? But that sounds ridiculous. But it's happened to me for 5 or 6 years now.
any ideas?
