Using Clean 'N Dull Regulary
« on: June 18, 2009, 08:09:59 AM »
Does anyone uses their Clean 'N Dull after every set rather than after 20 games or so to keep the balls dull?

I do my wife's GameBreaker. IMO any cover designed to 'soak oil', you better use it to keep the ball in shape.

Mine, Perfect Rival and Zilla, I use once a week, unless it is super dirty.

I think it really depends on what you are bowling on. Oilier conditions will probably need it after every set to keep ball reaction consistent. Drier or normal house shot maybe every other set.

I use it after every set, for me thats the only way. For whatever reason if I don't use it regularly my carry suffers.

Clean N Dull is not used to keep balls dull in that it doesn't dull them. It "allows" dull balls to stay dull and polished balls to stay polished.

It will remove "oil shine" from dull balls very well.  In that sense, it will keep dull balls dull.

I use it after every set, usually before I leave the bowling center.

We use it to clean every ball that comes in to be cleaned or worked on and it works great.  I recommend it to all my customers along with Energizer or Power Wash.  I advise people with polished balls to use it once a week and use one of the others to clean the ball after bowling. For customers with a sanded ball is recommend they use it after each session of bowling to keep the ball in its matte finish.  I now have customers that come in a by it by the 32oz. bottles because they like it so much.

What is the best way to use and apply CND when using a spinner. Do you put in on then wait then buff it off?

I'd suggest: Don't use it on a spinner.
Some people have found it seems to put a slight shine on their ball. How they do this, I cannot say, for I have not found this to happen. But why take chances.

Use it by hand.
Put it on a paper towel, about a quarter - half-dollar sized dollop. Spread it around with hand pressure, with the ball sitting in a cup. Rotate the ball slowly while wiping the surface with the towel, keeping the surface as wet as possible.

Do this for about a minute.
Then, as it starts to dry, wipe it off with a clean, damp paper towel. Then dry it off with a dry paper towel.

Then do the other side.
