Need help[ in selecting a new ball for my wife.
« on: August 12, 2011, 04:12:26 AM »
My wife has been using an Ebonite Tornado for a while and it worked fine until the center we bowl in changed the amount of oil they were putting out.  Now it's just not strong enough and she needs something about 2 to 3 clicks stronger than the Tornado.  Something that will cut through the oil better and have some pop on the back.  Want something in the Ebonite family (Columbia, Ebonite, Track or Hammer).

If it will help she averages in the 160's and uses a 13 lb. ball with full finger drilling.  Slower speed but does have fairly good revs on the ball.  She plays mainly in the track area but can move left or right a little.  Because of her speed, I would doubt that she could use any of the really strong equipment.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Columbia Freeze.  You might try sanding the Tornado to a lower grit first, though.  --  JohnP

The Ebonite Cyclone is supposed to be a replacement for the Tornado at the low end of the line. It is stronger than the Tornado, so it might be just what you need.
