wood lanes...

do i need to do something different when bowling on wood lanes?  i can't do it...i don't get a consistent reaction with anything i throw. is there certain balls that match up better??  do i need to change anything with me?/

i think i have noticed wod lanes seem to be less forgiving on bad shots and also break down faster.  thanks for the input
