What to get rid of
« on: July 16, 2009, 06:11:37 AM »
I have way too many bowling balls. Need help deciding which to keep. I'm a stroker with around 265-275 RPM. 16 MPH ball speed. Good axis rotation. PAP is 4 1/2 over, 3/8 up. Here's what I have:

Mega Friction - 4 1/4" pin to PAP, pin over bridge (Keep) 1000 abralon.
Virtual Gravity - 4 1/4 x 5, pin over bridge. 4000 abralon.
Sauce - 4 1/4" pin to PAP, pin over bridge. 2000 abralon.
Resurgence - 4 3/4" pin to PAP, pin over bridge (Keep) 2000 abralon.
Break Point - 4 1/2" pin to PAP, pin in bridge (Keep) 4000 abralon.
S-75 - 5 1/4" pin to PAP, pin under bridge (Keep) 2000 polished.
Second Dimension - 5" pin to PAP, pin under bridge. 2000 polished.
Burn - 5" pin to PAP, pin over bridge (Keep) 4000 polished.
Hy-Road - 4 1/4" pin to PAP, pin over bridge (Keep) 2000 polished.
T-Road Pearl - RICO. Not sure on surface.
Spit Fire - RICO. Not sure on surface.
Link - 4" pin to PAP, pin under bridge (Keep) 4000 abralon.
Slate Blue Gargoyle - 4 3/4" pin to PAP, pin over bridge.

The ones that don't say "Keep" next to them, I'm not sure if I should keep them or get rid of them. I might have a SECRET AGENT on the way, drilled 4 1/2" pin to PAP, pin under bridge. I know that I have way too many stronger balls. I just
get attached to them and have a hard time getting rid of them.

Any advice/opinions are appreciated, thanks.

You got that backwards, abralon finishes are about half the grit they say they are, 2000 abralon is closer to 1000 grit US CAMI scale.

it seems in general you have a lot of overlap. I would say maybe keep the 2nd dimension but everything else you should be able to let go and not miss really.

(My 2nd Dimension started splitting this week, won't last much longer)

You probably hate your 2nd Dimension, you definitely should NOT keep this ball, you should sent it to me right away!!  LOL!

Your arsenal looks pretty good to me.  Make sure you have different surfaces and they do something different from each other.  Sell the duplicates.  If you bowl tournaments, having a few specialty balls never hurts.  Gotta have those special golf clubs ya know......

To the ones you've already decided to keep, add the Slate blue Gargoyle and sell the rest.  --  JohnP
