Why my Track has changed?
« on: June 17, 2008, 11:32:31 PM »
lately I have noticed that my track has changed thus changing my PAP. My old PAP was 5 5/8> 3/4^, now i seem to have a slight inverted track going on, not drastic but noticable and it sems that I might have a higher PAP going over.

It started when i bought a used Buzzbomb that the span was correct just needed different slug and gips. Turns out the ball had much different pitches than my driller or me is used to. The thing is the balls feels great coming out of my hand, but I started noticing my track was slightly inverted, and now it seems like I am having a slight invert with all my equipment.

Just wondering what might have caused this, and what I am most likely doing in my release that causes a inverted track. Can different pitches cause such a different change in realease. Is a inverted track sorta bad to have??

Most likely you're not looking at the initial track but one of the early flare rings.  The ball is probably laid out for a lot of flare and WILL begin to flare as soon as it leaves your hand.  If you put it well out on the lane it may make its first revolution before it hits the lane, so the best you could see would be the second flare ring.  If the heads are dry you could be looking at the third or fourth ring.  As the ball flares the rings move into an inverted position with normal layouts.  When you mark your PAP with white tape, your observer has to look for its position as soon as it leaves your hand.  This can be very difficult to pick up on a high flaring ball.  That's why it's best to check your PAP on a non-flaring ball.  --  JohnP

My BuzzBomb revs up harder than my other equipment and the flare rings are more exaggerated.
