Why so much inconsistency?
« on: November 10, 2004, 11:21:14 PM »
We are all guilty of it to some degree and we have all seen it. This is the bowler who shoots 250–225–138 or 140-240-170 or even 140-145-300.

You use to seldom see a bowler have such wildly varying scores in a night now it seems like I see at least one bowler do it every league night.

Is it all about carry? Have we become such poor spare shooters that we can’t shoot a decent score if your carry dries up?

Is it all about changing lane conditions and matching up? Have we become that dependent on catching the transition just right and can’t adjust to keep up with it?

The worst I ever saw was a bowler who went 180-280-80. It was all about carry. He was trying to hook the lane and the middle game anything that touched the headpin struck.
