Question for pro shop guys.

I was wondering, what do you think is the best mill/drill?

They are all better than a reguler drill press.Most companies use the same mill they just put there sticker on it. We have a Precision Ovalmatic and a Enco mill.There both the same......

I'm either going with the tri-oval mill or the innovation mill (non-vac). Although I hear you have to remove the ball from the jig on the innovation mill?


Has anyone used the new Jayhawk Digital Scale?

I have a Precision Ovalmatic.......awesome!!! Great service from the company. I had a couple of others and did not care for them. Had one with a jayhawk "hands free" jig.....no comparison, the precision stuff is better.

Where do you get info on the Precision Ovalmatic??  I use a Innovative Vacu Jig on an AMF mill/drill.  Really fast, reliable, no problems.  Working on getting a second milling machine.....

I don't trust the vacu jig. I've heard of the balls breaking loose and people being hit by them?

We've had this machine for 4 years now, and NEVER has a ball jumped out. If you don't get good suction on the ball, you clamp it down!!!

I have a Jayhawk tri oval it's OK but Precision Ovalmatic has the best overall. Once I get my next shop i will get one of those, they also have the best end mills.

I have used a jayhawk for a while now and i honestly think that it is better then almost ne thing out there but again everyone has a persoanl bias.

Are the end mills better to use on ovals? Jayhawk says you don't need them with the tri-oval.

jjweb, end ills cut cleaner when ovaling holes. Mills don't give you those ridges inside the hole. I just brought some fron Innovative bowling their pretty good.
