I *heart* my new shoes.
« on: April 22, 2004, 11:23:24 PM »
Well throught the advice of some of the Ball review members, i bought a pair of Dexter SST6's.  I have bowled a few sets in them, and all i can say is WOW!  They are single handedly the most comfortable shoe i have ever owned!  that includes all the shoes i have ever owned in life.  And to think i only wear them to bowl!

I got them through buddies pro shop for 124 shipped, damn good price.  Very VERY VERY fast service.  Placed order Monday afternoon, and received my shoes on wed, just in time to bowl with them.

After playing around with them, i like the combo of heel/toe that came with the shoe.  But i changed to the red horseshoe heel, for less slide.  I have yet to try this combo out though.

I feel as if my delivery has changed, i am now using an effective slide, and finishing on my slide foot.  No longer stepping out of the shot as i was before, this could be a result of practice but i think teh shoes helped there a little.  Need to get my new approach on tape.

Here is my old vid, wiht my old kiks.  Wont be able to make a new one until, monday or possibly wed.

I went with Dexter SST 6's because of plantar fasciitis and hopefully I'll be able to switch back to my lovely Linds Exxtras, but for now the Dexters are working out fine.

The base of the shoe seems wider, and the slide is a little bit different than in Linds.  I wonder if the difference is because the Dexters has a whole slide sole vs. the hockey puck thingies in the Linds Exxtras.  I'll have to think about that one

There great and i would reccomend them to anyone... albeit there pricey but you get what you pay for.

I also really like the wide feeling of the shoe, they are very comfortable.  If i could i would wear them for more than just bowling.  Oddly enough when i step down my foot expands, I have a fat foot, and these shoes are very comfortable.  No blisters, no rubbing, and my feet dont feel hot i give these shoes

I may be able to take some video tomorrow of my approach.  WOOT WOOT.

Peri- In the thread i started about my video, many had concluded that i have bad timing, and i muscle the ball alot.  And the muscling the ball was causing me to fall out of my shot and tug the ball.  I have noticed that i am more prone to tugging when i step out of the shot, it looks as i am off balance but i am very sure footed.  I tend to step out of my shot when im sturggling.

Also, i was told that by "stepping out" i am loosing leverage and ball speed.

As of late i have been staying with my shot, and finishing wiht my slide foot.  Its much eaiser to do now that i have a newer pair of shoes, my old shoes belonged to my dad.    It just feels much better and clean, i have yet to video tape myself doing so... that is my goal tonight to make some bowling videos.  I will update and post back tonight.
