Who still uses the AMF/Qubica wick type machines? We use one at our home house due to the over lane ball returns and a spray machine would not fit under neath them.

So, the question is this? The wicks have part numbers attached to them, but in the interest of running new patterns on the lanes, the pattern might say "Use a 10 and then two 7, and ...." but since the wicks are not marked, how do you know which wick is what number? What is the easiest way to tell the difference between the wicks?

So then what controls the amount of oil? Is it the foam strip that controls amount and the wick is just the number of boards that the wick distributes the oil?

Amount of oil is determined by machine speed and distance before the tank kicks off the transfer roller.  The flow rate through the wick is only controlled by using regular or high flow wicks.
