Will Brunswick continue some of the Ebonite balls?
« on: March 07, 2020, 05:36:51 PM »
The Ebonite site still lists the Destiny series along with the Turbo/R.   Columbia still shows the Messenger and some others.  Same with Hammer and Track.  Does anyone know if Brunswick will continue making these balls?

Who cares. They are all made in Mexico now.
Balls: Motiv Trident Abyss, Motiv Mythic Jackal, Motiv Trident Odyssey, Motiv Venom Shock, Motiv Hyper Venom and Motiv Hyper Sniper. All made in the USA. Long live the Turbulent core!

Heard some Hammer favorites are coming back soon.

Id imagine for most rest it will be keeping the cores and names and continuing the series. Game Breaker series probably, the One, the Black widow, Vibe, urethane's, Kinetic, Paradox, etc. Some of the main one will no doubt continue on like they have for years now.

I've been stockpiling GB2s in any condition, getting them plugged and detoxed as I'll never stop throwing that ball. I'm on my 9th one (actively thrown) and have 3 more fully plugged on standby for next season.

I doubt they will be doing any dead on remakes and we'll continue to see the Hopikinsville, Mexico hybrid models. Some of them do look good though. Omni looks like a real winner. I am intrigued by the Latitude.

Bowled with a ball rep using the Track Latitude and the C300 Outlook.  The Latitude was too strong, but he tore it up with the Outlook.  That thing was absolutely amazing.

From what I've heard, it depends on which patents/rights/ownership they obtained with the buyout and which they lost that were held by certain people that did not get bought out/hired etc.

Gonna laugh if they can't make the widow. Such a good ball over the years, same with the vortexes...

I was at a Brunswick pro shop seminar on Wednesday and the reps ensured us that all 4 EBI brands will continue to produce balls from the midrange and up, but some of the lower end balls will be discontinued as there is too much overlap.

The market in the lower/mid price point currently has the following offerings: Twists, Rhinos, Alley Cats, Counter Attacks, Destinys, Turbos, Beasts, Messengers and Vibes.  I don't know which ones will be discontinued, but if you absolutely must have a Turbo and are concerned that you may have to settle for a Rhino in 6 months time, then now might be a good time to pick one up - especially because most of the Kentucky EBI stuff is on sale.

The reps specifically mentioned that they have plans to produce Widows, Web Tours and Purple Hammers out of Reynosa, but that the process in making some of those covers and cores was a bit different in Kentucky so it will take a little time to get them just right in the new factory.  Maybe we will see those in the fall?

The Counters Attack balls and the Alley Cat balls are no longer on Radical's and DV8's most recent ball comparison charts. I think those are probably on their way out. Brunswick still has the Rhino and Twist on theirs though.
