...bhat is everyone's choice as a heavier oil ball? I've been looking at where i've been struggling as of late and oil is definetly a major problem for me. I know nothing is supposed to hook on true heavy oil but for heavier patterns what is everyone having success with and recomending? I really can't afford a scb or any Lane 1 stuff so that's pretty much out, but other than that i'm open to suggestions... anyone?

Track has a ton of stuff for heavy oil: Mutant, Super-Freak, Phenom,
Columbia has the new Throttle,
Brunswick has the Raging Inferno,
Dyno-Thane has the Vendetta Particle (inexpensive; I have one and can hardly find enough oil for it.)
Roto-Grip jas the Silver Streak Particle & the Fule,
Visionary has the Gryphon Particle, and the good old Granite Gargoyle (Cheap on the internet- $85 plus shipping)
Ebonite has the Jungle Green (cheap), the new V2 Strong (inexpensive), and the Addiction,
Hammer has the Diesel Particle (inexpensive) and the recently discontinued Vicious Particle,
Morich has the Colossus and the Colossus Supreme,
Storm has the X-Factor Deuce.

All should handle a good deal of oil.

The Amf Angle tour is a great heavy oil ball. Now that they are discontinued you can often find them on ebay very cheaply. Usually 16 lbs is all that is left.

I paid an average of $120 for any new saw I bought,(Blueberry and XXXL) and $50 for the used ones I bought(Blueberry, Viper, and Pearl Carbide Bomb). I am not saying that I have bought a bomb series ball for $120, but I bought a used Pearl Carbide Bomb for $55. I really do NOT see where that is any more cash than any other high end ball. Message Doug Sterner or Drillwizard. Don't be afraid to buy used. I recently had 13 balls and only 2-3 of them were bought new. My main bag for this year will feature 3 used balls and 2 balls I bought new...

From whom did you steal these balls from, when EVERYONE's published DISCOUNTED price is in the $175-225 range?

From what I can see right now, your top oilers are going to be:

Throttle
Raging Inferno
Mutant
V-2 Strong

I have an SCB that I can't use all that much. Bought it used, redrilled the thumb and wow...strong, hard even roll but it's just too much. It's even slightly polished right now.

I know a friend wanting to sell his once drilled 4 month old Mutant and I may be selling the Super Bomb...

If interested in either of these balls, lemme know.

The Phenom is definately more ball than the Mutant(so far). I think the hit is comparable, but the Mutant hits a little harder.

I have not seen the Raging Inferno thrown yet, but everything points to it being a heavy oiler.

The Throttle is definately a heavy oil ball, and it rolls up early as most would want a true heavy oil ball to do.

I bought EVERY BUZZSAW on here,
I have bought 2 new ones. I paid $239 shipped for a Blueberry and XXXL.
I bought a blueberry and a Pearl Carbide Bomb from Klerk300 for a tidy sum of $105 shipped.
I bought a used viper from someone else on here. $50 shipped (cannot remeber who)
I bought my wife an original Carbide Solid for $65 shipped from John Figuoera.

Where is that Expensive.

?? and as for heavy oil balls I can only suggest rev the ball a bit... I threw my polished Blueberry on a 50' Tournament of Champions shot on a gardian/wood mixture and had NO problem getting it to move....

My heavy oil choice would be a sanded Blueberry(3by5)! As Buzzhead mentioned, a polished BB also has a wicked backend but the sanded version gives me a bit more predictability. Granted, I cant swing it as much on real heavy oil but that sort of works to my advantage. As far as price goes, If you look hard enough you can find them at decent prices.

Used? Yes. I thought you were talking new. Was the Blueberry & XXXL $239 when the BB was discontinued? A month ago, they couldn't give away the Blueberry as soon it was known that it was discontinued. Then you could get it for reasonable.

I mean, can you get a Black Cherry Bomb for $120 today? If so, from whom?

No I bought the Blueberry and XXXL, last February before they were discontinued.

I cannot find those prices around. I was stating what I was lucky enough to find them for....all you have to do is search around a bit.

My next new Saw will come from Doug Sterner, I have bought a few used from him and like his service and dedication to the sport he shows by still taking used stuff.... I will be visiting him soon enough...
