Here's an example of what is going to happen to bowling news and is progressive as well as informative.
http://www.bowlweb.com/mba/2014/10/16/lake-city-has-sports-shirt-night/ This happened to be a theme night for our league.....note pic. I write this every week for our 5 man hdcp league the next morning. It is hosted on our local USBC Madison Bowling Assn. website. The association manager is up to date on the net and this is written on a wordpress theme. I take my camera along in my bowling bag and try to get a pic every week. Images along with story make it better.
Lake City is an old 5 man hdcp league that started after WWII and is 5 man hdcp 10 teams. Note in story I focus more on the handicap aspect and newer bowlers who go over their averages as they improve. This is one of the reasons we have bowler retention issues in the sport. Many lessor skilled players feel not included. I also try and put some effort into the team aspect which bowling has seemingly gone to more individual honors.
IMO this is where bowling in general....news and information will be on the net not in newspapers. Also note in Lake City I go down to 600 the local paper has a minimum of 650 up from 625 from last year for men to cut down on space.
I do 3 leagues for our assn. in this manner. We are trying to get others involved in leagues to do the same so far no takers. Takes me with image upload about 15 - 20 minutes per league to do.
