Turbo 2n1 switch grip vs. Vise IT vs. neither

I am switching over to 15lbs sometime soon and I am really considering getting one or the other, I was wanting to know which you guys think is best and why, also what are the postives and negatives of each. Is it worth the money, because I do sometimes have problems getting the same release with each and every ball.
  As far as I know, there isn't really anywhere around here that does the vise, most places are doing the turbo, is that a sign that turbo is better? Lol thanks for your input.

its not so much if its better..its easier to install...but the Vise (from what i have read) is more versatile.  I install the Griploc System and its very easy to use and durable.  I've tried the Turbo and I didnt like that it doesnt lock very tightly.  

Choice is yours..good luck

I have been installing the VISE IT system since it first came out (about a year ago). It is very easy to install. It is much easier than most other systems. The biggest advantage to this system is that the size of the thumbhole is only 1/16 larger than a normal slug hole. The others use a much larger hole. This makes layouts and ball weight (within USBC compliance) a lot easier to think about prior to drilling.

I use the vise IT system, and it works great.  Never had a problem.

I have used both.. The older switch grips were no where near as durable as the newer model.. I broke a couple slugs with those.. But since the new 1 came outI haven't had any problems.. The Vise is great I have no complaints at all. But the 1 thing I can say is the turbo are easier to install I by no means are say vise is hard, but you drill the 1 1/2 hole and glue the outer in..lol Doesn't get much easier..

From a bowler's viewpoint, I like the Vise system better.  Sturdier, no flexion at all, feels just like a slug.  Cuz it is a slug.  I don't think I can break one of these.  Broke a number of Switch Grips and it wasn't pretty a couple times it happened.  I would go with the IT.

i've tried both and grip lock also but i didnt care for any of them they seem loose in my backswing. if i had to pick one it would be the vise its the tightest it feels more like a normal thunb slug cause thats what it is. the grip lock is nice to but i perfer a plain old solid urethane slug just my 2 cents

if you want a tight feel use none.

If you must use iT is tighter and switch get loose after 10 game or so.

This may be a personal opinion and not a blanket statement.
I've had the system in over 30 balls and never experienced this.


I think both the current systems are great products and would choose the one your driller is most comfortable with installing.

I've used both.  Over a dozen SG's and now 3 IT's

Turbo will loosen over time.  Parts wear not as solid as IT....I've had to use tape to shim outer to inner.  I do agree that since the SG has a larger inner that you can drill more pitches. But that is also why I don't like it as much prefer a smaller hole that mimics regular size thumb.  

Once you know your pitches and aren't going to change or experiment I'd definitely go with IT.  As far as putting together IT inner once you have a couple of inners drilled for yourself nothing to put together just drill outer in any new ball.  

IT is just more solid and smaller wouldn't change ball dynamics.

They used to break.. around here atleast material was to brittle imo.. But I will always support a michigan based brand

Of the choices available here's what I know.....

Grip Loc....by far the simplest and least expensive to install. the only downfall is the grooves cut into the inner to align the slug cause the walls to get thin if you need to "adjust" the hole in the slug, I have an inner sleeve that I have used for 2 years and it's just getting loose

Turbo Switch Grip....Easier and simpler to install than the IT but not as simple as the GripLoc, downfalls...had a history of breaking the locking tabs, still are suspect from what I know, requires the use of a huge hole in the ball.

Vise-IT....the best and most solid of the bunch, a bit more complicated to install at first from what I have seen online but is quite easy once you learn the process, multiple sizes of slugs available for use, , uses non-standard drill bit sizes, reasonably priced components.

I personally use the Grip Loc since it is the most cost effective for my small operation but I want to try the Vise system....maybe profits will allow it in a month or so...
