Strangest leave I've seen in a while
« on: January 11, 2006, 02:54:56 AM »
Last night I threw a shot that left me staring in awe at the pin deck.  Shot seemed to be out (3d board) and I tugged one into the slide (heavy oil) zone just a tad.  Actually threw it well, had good hand in it, hit the release pretty much spot on (at least it felt good), ball rolled up into pocket and looked good, left a "solid" 4-5.  After a moment of silence everyone in my pit as well as the adjoining two pit areas started laughing.  Can't say I blame them.

I've left that one about four or five times myself, made it twice. Only one place to hit it -- extremely thin on the 3, the three hits the front of the 4, 4 falls into the 7. The reason you have to hit it so thin is the ball must slightly deflect off the 3 to hit the 6-9-10 square. If you catch too much of the 3, you'll leave the 9.
