Title: WOOD vs SYNTHETIC lanes
Post by: Lane1Redneck on November 27, 2004, 12:54:17 AM
My question is..  If you have the same shot say sport shot on each of these lanes, and you properly selected the ball for the shot, and everything is smooth, would you ball reaction be the same on WOOD as it would be on SYNTHETIC ???  or would it seem slicker on a SYNTHETIC lane ??  I'm asking cause I have not yet to shoot on a synthetic lane yet..

No they would not.. because wood (and the finish) is softer. This will cause the ball to hook more. As well, dark boards are harder than white boards and this causes individual lanes to play differently.. especially if those dark boards are near the break point or pocket.
