Working for AMF?
« on: November 04, 2008, 03:07:43 AM »
I am scheduled for an interview with AMF for a GM position, and I am wondering if anyone out there has experience with this company?  Good to work for?  I would be relocating to a new area and will be unfamiliar with the bowling community there.

I am wondering what salary can a typical AMF bowling center GM expect to earn?  Haven't had much luck with online salary calculators.  This would be a career change for me, though I do have 10 years experience as a GM in another field.

Any other experience or info would be interesting to me as well.  Thanks!

I bowl at our local AMF...it's not run that well.  They charge significantly higher prices than Bruswick for league bowlers to practice.  I do like their Wednesday night all you can bowl from 7 to 11 for $10.  Machines tear up the equipment, and the goop that gets stuck on my balls won't come off with anything.

I worked for a different division of AMF (pipeline inspection), they treated us like dogs.  On the road 250 days a year, crappy pay, and they fired anyone who turned 50 and replaced them with a 24 year old.

This was 15 years ago so they may be different now, but I'd investigate them carefully.
