This was simply amazing. We had a guy last night shoot 289 (first 10 then 4 pin), 288 (first 10 again then 4-7), 231 (w/ a 2-8-10 in the 9th) for an 806. What's amazing is that this guy has never even shot a 600 in league before. This is his first full year (averaging around 170) and he's the type of bowler that will shoot 150, 230, 150. He did it with an X-Factor Duece that he won in a raffle late last year and a pair of house shoes. Another great thing was that he needed the first 2 in the tenth the last game and everyone was rallying around him then there was a large applause when he did it. It was great!! No one complaining or mumbling just congratulating.

One of my friends bowled an 800 (with a synergy nrg) before he ever threw a 700, but to go from 500's to an 800 is just unbelievable! I have witnessed a few people with 160 averages hit 300's in the past...but for someone averaging around 170 to be that one and consitent for a 3 game set is practically unheard of.

If I had not just shot my first 800 about 3 weeks ago, then I would be really mad about this. But since I did, its all good! Haha, way to go guy.

WOW!!!

You'd think that if he's never even shot a set above 600 that he would really be nervous after realizing that he's got a chance to shoot an 800 whenever he got up in the 10th frame of game 3.

You wonder how guy's like this can pull something like this off... How did he control is nerves?

He must have stayed really calm in order to do this!!!

Just to update. I talked to him last night and he said that he did shoot a 600 about a month ago in a different league (626) but what he did is still pretty impressive all things considered. I don't think that he had any idea as to what he was about to do or had done until after the first 2 in the tenth. That's when everyone started to cheer and I think he realized that all he needed to do was keep it on the lane for 8. I'm sure that's when it all sank in and he went very light brooklyn and left a 7 count in the fill ball.

I can't complain but this is awesome!!!!!!

Had a friend that had never had a 7 shot 842 before but he also had shot 6 before!

It's stuff like that that makes me think bowling is too easy. I mean, when you've got guys shooting 250+pins over average every night, there's something wrong. He must have been bowling with the biggest wall you can find. In another two years, they won't count any scores more than 50 pins over series average. Probably the ball did all the work. Did it have a weight hole? Where was the CG?

Or I could just be jealous. That's amazing. Congrats to your friend.
