what's up with this house?
« on: February 11, 2004, 05:59:41 AM »
on my sundaynight league I've been averaging 220-230 for the past month or so,o.k. so it's a THS.I'm basically a lower tracker with alot of revs and side rotation, speed around 17mph.now on my tuesday night league is what I don't get.synthetic lanes, med oil and pretty much a long flat pattern from channel to channel.no matter what I do I leave constantly 8 pins,9pins,10 pins 7,s and alot of weird splits like the 8-10,7-10 and the like.I've tried everything from highload particle to urethane playing all different parts of the lanes with different speeds and wrist adjustments.everyone that throws a strong ball suffers from bad carry on what seems a good pocket hit.now, the older gents that roll the ball with no hand,no revs and no speed seem to do fairly well.now mind you I can hook the whole lane on this shot and the break point is very consistent, just can't carry anything.so I adjusted by slowing my ball speed down alot, come up the back of the ball and put it in an instant roll right from the line to the pins with no skid on the ball at all and bingo,I'm shooting pretty good with easy carry.WHY?
The harder I try the harder they fall

no insight from anyone?HMM......yea,it's got me stumped too.could it be old pins?carrydown? this has got me stumped, best average for me so far here is a 194.anyone with a duce+ average rolls it instantly from the line.not hard to do,just not much fun.
