I have a desire to re-build my 4 ball arsenal for next season. Currently I have too much that overlaps. Anyway, what I am looking for is 1 dry lane ball, 1 med-dry ball, 1 med-oily ball, and 1 heavy oil ball.
Unfortunately, I do not know my exact speed and revs, as I have never been to a place that has the equipment to do it. Guessing, by judging myself against others I have bowled over the last 17 years, I'd say I am average speed and above average revs. My track on non-flaring equip. is approx 3/8 in. from the thumb and finger holes. Unless there is long, long oil I don't have any trouble getting the ball to move for me.
In this scenario, which 4 balls would you put together? I am currently thinking about this:
1. Lane 1 XXXL
2. Track Dry Heat
3. Storm Super Charge
4. Track Phenom Unleashed
I'm looking for 4 balls, each with different length/backend looks to give me as many different line play options as would be possible with only a 4 ball arsenal. I have not thrown any of the above, so if you have experience with them, let me know. What do you think might fit better?
On Edit: Thought I might add what I currently have.
Columbia Scout Urethane
Columbia Vector One
Ebonite Stinger LF Pearl
Ebonite Savage Pearl
Track Heat 2
The problem I have is that the Vector, Stinger, and Savage all work on the same condition. If they get a little drier, the Scout is OK, but I wondered if the block in the XXXL would help get the 10 out a little better. If they get oilier, then the pearls become less useful. I got the Track used, and it is an experiment ball... it hits good, but has been drilled a few times. Mostly I just want to try some new things, and hopefully create a more versatile arsenal (even if the guy throwing it
isn't as versatile) LOL.
