I would probably try a slight move with my feet or an adjustment to my hand position before I'd try switching balls. I think those moves can be equally effective and are a lot more predictable than a sudden ball change. Most people don't know their equipment well enough to make a move like that out of the blue, so, if it's just a matter of wanting to stay dead flush, I think a hand position change is the way to go. I was doing that last night when I could see my ball rolling up earlier and earlier. Sure, I had another ball at the ready, but the hand position allowed me to keep the good feel and delay the reaction just long enough to keep me smashing the rack when the lanes changed. But that's just my .02. I can't say that I'd never try a ball change in that situation, but that would be the last resort after I considered feet or hand position differences.

I can't bowl 300, but I can bench 315 : )
