This is the kind of crap I'm talking about

What a DICK answer.  Granted, guy asking the question is slightly ignorant, but at least he knows what question to ask.  Yeah, he may have a wrong assumption, but how does that warrant being completely ass-reamed just to not even have his question answered?! He asked how to figure out where the cg is, either tell him, or just tell him to take it to his pro shop so they can figure it out!  This type of person is the reason people don't like dealing with pro shops or high ups in the industry.

The answer was off base, but it's amazing to see guys that without the knowledge wanting to put holes in the ball. A lot of people as he stated doesn't have a clue what it takes to become an experienced ball driller. I had a guy trying to cut corner and brought me his ball he plugged with body filler. He had a mess and didn't even clean the grip material from the finger holes. The holes were still rounded and he wanted me to fix his mess. I did, but I told him that it would be more cause of the extra work of cleaning up his mess. He apologized and said he thought he could do it himself and drill it with his hand drill. Just my $.02, Bruce

There's a pretty awesome youtube video where a guy actually shows how to drill a ball with a hand drill . . and spends about 3 or 4 times as much as he would just taking it to a shop, not to mention taking 2 or 3 hours to do something I could do for him in 20 minutes haha.

I've seen that one before. It's hilarious!  It's such a hack job it looks like your fingers would split open on the first ball.  Not to mention he probably burned through several bits and batteries doing it! I love how the fingers aren't evenly spaced or aligned either!

Here's the link to the video!

If its the one from the guy who puts the ball inside a bucket and then starts drilling the holes with 1/8" increments you should check the mess on his thumb... something is really wrong with this guy and people messing without knowledge, worst bowling thumb calluses I have ever seen.
I will put the link... CAUTION most awful and hard to watch 8 minutes of history of bowling ball drilling
