b'tchin about b'tchin

If the the balls today are too strong, why are people still trying to create more revs. I used to be impressed by peolple who could play inside the fourth arrow. Now I'm more impressed by the guy that can take his hand out of the ball and play around the first arrow. Leverge is just as important for getting the ball down the lane as it is to creating revolutions. I see too many bowlers that would rather hook the ball rather than knock pins down.

Either way the game is changing and you have adapt or die. You can complain or adjust. I will fight to be the best even if we were throwing lawnn darts at the pins.

Remus--Do you believe to be a great player that you need to be able to play the lane the way it dictates?

That's crazy talk scotts33!

[sarcasm on]
We should all have the same exact easy condition every week so I never have to throw anywhere other than the 1 line I can halfway play!  Why should I have to adjust, the center should just give me the scores I want!  After all, it's not like there are a bunch of pro's on league, we just want to drink a few pitchers of beer and shoot 300's and 800's like everyone else!  Besides, I'm paying for it, so the center is obligated to give me exactly what I want, or I'll reem the manager's a-- in front of God and everybody for the lousy conditions that are ruining my scores!

Uncle Remus: I have never been one of those bowlers who could roll the ball coast to coast and knock down all the pins. I learned to play a down and in line. In college my coach showed me that I needed to add versatility to my game, learning to play 4th arrow deep as well as up the gutter without fear. With these new bowling balls, you can rarely touch that part of the lane straight (especially on a THS) unless you have the hand release adaptability, and I don't see it in a lot of the coast to coasters...

I learn to adapt to what the lanes give me. Every week can be different in one house compared to another, depending on their knowledge of oiling equipment, weather, lineage that given day, and so on...you learn to take what the lanes give you and work from there.

I seem to be a hybrid....I don't stroke the ball, I generate revs like you say, but for me, my purpose it only for carry, I still play down and in with some speed.  I dont' think once about trying to play 40-5 if the pattern won't allow me, or if the best line is up 10.
