Wow.. Check this out!
« on: April 16, 2008, 01:22:16 AM »
Just ran across this on eBay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/EBONITE-WOLF-BOWLING-BALL-14-LBS_W0QQitemZ230237657628QQihZ013QQcategoryZ36104QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1638Q2em118Q2el1247

I was going to buy it until I looked at the photos...  maybe this one didn't set up properly?  Or just been used as a display ball too long.. LOL?  I've never seen a ball do that before!

That's a display ball created to show off the Wolf core when it first came out.  They came with the flat spot so that you could leave them on the counter without a ball cup.  The response they got influenced Ebonite to actually produce the clear Wolf.

As far as i know this was an actual display ball...it was made specifically for that purpose, and not to ever touch a lane

Although for those saying the sport is too easy, here is a challenge for ya

I believe it is a display model... they had a clear omega lion too so you could see the core inside... but I don't remember it being flat on the bottom

I like how he tries to turn a negative into a positive... "THE BALL IS FLAT WHERE YOU DON'T HAVE TO HAVE A BOWLING CUP TO PUT THIS BOWLING BALL ON."

BINGO! We have a winner.

This 100% correct and in fact I still have 2 of the Clear Wolf balls, one I'm throwing now and a NIB one in my closet for when the current one spilts in two. The ones produced to be thrown are Orange in color, not Red like this one.
