How to get that bowling feeling?
« on: December 05, 2004, 09:10:03 AM »
How do you guys get that bowling feeling back?  You know, where you actually look forward to going bowling league and stuff.  Right now, I really don't have that feeling.  I wasn't even gonna bother coming to league this week, but it's the last week of the first half so I decided i might as well.  I'm contemplating if i actually want to bowl the second half of the season.  I have NO desire to go bowling anymore.  And no it's not from going too much.  I bowl once a week, in my league and nothing more.  I don't want to abandon my team for the second half though, i'd probably send them into a downward spiral.

But what do you guys do when you have no desire to bowl?  It's not just recently, i haven't wanted to bowl the entire season.  It shows in my average, which is so horrible i won't even post it.

Chances are if i decide not to bowl this next half, it will likely be for good.

Been there done that, usually something in your head.  Spend part of a day doing nothing, no tv, no music, just relax, and do some thinking.  Or, I usually find that a couple of weeks of not thinking about bowling period gets me wanting to hit the lanes, or a new ball.  Also, when I go to the womens nationals to support my wife, after that second day of just watching makes me want to do nothing more than bowl.  Actually if your team has a sub, taking a break is usually a good way to get them in some games just in case.

Bowling is more fun when you only have to throw 1 ball..

Try something new.
A new ball. New drill. New line. New release. Try for the 300, 800. Whatever.
Also aim to outscore a better bowler.

a_ak57 -- No suggestions on how to get the feeling back, but if you do decide to quit, do it right.  Give your teammates three weeks notice, then leave with your head high and no hard feelings.  --  JohnP
