lookin for something new
« on: May 22, 2005, 09:10:38 AM »
Alrighty well I just decided to get a new ball so Ive been doin some lookin around. Figured everyone around here seems to be pretty good with helping people so I'd put this up and see what you could do to help me. Before I start anything I wanted to mention I'm looking for a light oil ball or something for carry down, using my plastic now and still sometimes over hook it. Was thinking of trying the Blade line but most are now discontinued, but any advice is welcome. I prob throw around 16mph with med to high revs. Also track towards the higher side. Here's my line up right now, and not sure of drillings(not very knowledgeable there).
15# Buzzsaw/C Super Carbide
16# Vicious Strike
16# Pearl Hammer Nova(Go to ball)
16# Optyx Crypt Keeper (Spare and toasted lanes, yea I use this as a  strike ball when necessary)

I also have a Dyno-thane Grenade, but I still over hook that ball, so lookn for something else. Any input would be appreciated and if you have any questions feel free to ask.

carry down ball for the Blade series would have to be the Sharp Blade or Saw blade. Sharp Blade drilled lable drill (45 degreed) in OOB would work well. And the saw blade, stacked, wet sanded to 800 or 600 would work great too. FOr light oil, the new Vibe.

Thanks for the tip. Anybody else? Keep in mind it doesn't have to be a Hammer product. I'm open for anything. Preferrably not Lane 1 though. I like the company just trying not to spend too much. But am still willing to hear opinion as I may fork out the extra cash.

the Dry/R is your best bet for dry lanes NOW, BUT soon the Track Desert Heat will be out and if they finally got the "DONT HOOK" part down you should go with that
