Ever have a ball you hate but works good?
« on: March 04, 2005, 10:53:22 AM »
I have an intense inferno, and in all honesty I dont like it much at all. I was gonna sell it, then I realized, the last 2 tournies I brought it to, it was THE ball that was working for me. I was this close to getting rid of it *holds fingers very close together* but I realized it is the ball that kept on working for me. So, anyone have a ball that works but you hate? Its also condition sensitive for me. At league I cant use this ball, but only in league.

BK, What's wrong with your intense being condition specific? Isn't that the purpose you had intended it for?

I think he's just upset, because he can't use it in league.  He can use from a power groove, to a nemesis, but not the II.

No I mean...I dont know truthfully I cant explain it. Its just....I just dont like the feel of the ball. (not grip wise I just dont like it much) And no I did no intend it to be anything specific. ACTUALLY I was hoping it would be a very much all around ball I could use for league and such, but it is quite the opposite for me. I can however play pretty dern straight with it at league if it comes to that.

Why can't you use it in league? What kind of line do you play with it? I've heard that the intense works best if you tend to swing it a bit from an inside line.

My love a ball is solely dependent upon its performace...so therefore, "no, i've never had a ball that performed well, but I hated."

oh, except for that one the wouldn't swallow.

Every one I've seen has performed best doing just the opposite... Straight up on medium or slight swing on medium light.

Yea the ball is really nothing like I thought it was going to be, I guess I was just kind of disapointed with it. I was expecting a backend skid/snap monster, but turned out with a very controlled arcy roll. I think I am going to give it another shot in league this coming week. (dont have league tommorow )

Yep I have a Track Threat that is reall uncomfortable and rolls real strange.  The thing scores well when I use it.  Just not my favorite ball.

I think the only balls right now that I have in my arsenal that are very condition specific are my Barrage and Barbed Wire- and since I haven't seen too many light oil shots lately, I can't say I've been disappointed in their performance....as they sit comfortably in my tournament bags.
