Title: Wrong Ball?? Bad Proshop?? Not understanding equipment??
Post by: srlunatic on September 15, 2003, 10:49:53 AM
check this review out for the Throttle...

I was in my pro shop a few days ago looking for a ball for medium-dry lanes, but didn't want anything very skid/snapish. My scout particle gets down the lane too far, and I wanted something that moved about that much, but more in an arcing fashion. My shop recommended this ball.

We laid it out with the pin right of the ring finger, with the CG kicked out about 1 inch further right. Same drilling I used on my V2 Dry last time, which didn't move much. Because of that I thought this layout would work well for the drier type of house shot I was using the Throttle on.

In short, this thing really doesn't roll well for me. As a matter of fact, I've never had a ball roll out this early. Just to see how the ball would work polished I added a coat of turtle wax, but that just made it look cooler. Still rolled out at midlane. Thinking of adding a weighthole soon to knock it down from the 1 2/3 ounces of side it has right now.

um........Throttle......think might be a little stronger than a Scout????????........please tell me this was typed under the wrong ball...............or if the Pro Shop really recommended this.......should be banned......

HAH!  I don't know ANYBODY now!

Being in adult leagues teaches you many things.

1.  You're not on top anymore, but there are a lot more people that suck worse than you do now.

2.  The myth about the youths having an easier shot is NOT TRUE.  I'd have an entire ring collection if it was.

3.  Drunk adults are a lot funnier than drunk youths.

Hehe... medium/dry with the throttle... that's pretty funny.

Yet another example of why a little bit of homework can save you a lot of money.

Right from columbia's webpage:

"The Throttle thirsts for heavy oil, with its MuscleGT coverstock and startling new Cam Shaft core."

Would have taken you 30 seconds to check.

I know everyone wants to trust their pro-shop, but there's a time & a place to be a skeptic. When $200+ of my money is on the line, that's the time I choose.
