Had $40 in it. If I can find another fairly cheap I will buy another V if not maybe get a Paradox red

It was probably the grease pencil used for the layout that made it crack.
If you would have had it in a temperature controlled environment, in the dark, inside a plastic bag with a nice slow jazz tune playing in the back ground, it probably wouldn't have cracked. ;D

Thats why the pba truck scribe lines… to prevent cracking from the chemical reaction of the pencil lol.

This is exactly how some people sound when they lecture people on why balls crack.

I hate scribe lines. Won't go to a ball driller that does that.

That thing had a really thin shell. Not even thicker than a cheap Chicago pizza crust.

Very true. It's why I share this to try and show people in the end any ball at anytime could crack. Drilled or undrilled. Try and avoid extreme temps and hope for the best.

Unless you are on a tour truck drilling a large number of bowling balls that are handled by multiple people you can achieve the same results with a sharpened pencil or an ink pen.

But really dull pencils with broad lines make it easier for the driller ;)

True, or drilling to center punch the line vs catch the edge with the drill bit.
Or redraw the lines afterwards for a perfect fit every time lol

I've had several balls crack all the way around, from finger hole to thumb hole in recent years.
My PSO is so good, however, the balls that I wanted to keep......he fixed them!!
No problems!

And they are still the same size and still round?
