Well you don't see to many classic styles on the PBA tour anymore. It's a power based game and these guys like to play inside. Honestly not too many balls will be sold to your average league bowler if you have Norm Duke throwing it up 5, or Walter Ray doing the same thing. How many times do you see a product demo with somebody who loves to shim it up the outside, or a old school player who uses more angles than rev rate. You have the two mentioned before, Haugen and Jaros and possibly Barnes.
Other than that you have get in and bang on it guys with bigger rev rates. The general public wants to see balls hook, and who better to show case your balls than the guys who hook it.
It's a left to right game anymore, it's a high friction game. Those of us who do not have that dominate skill play a different type of game. Those of us who still "bowl" and use angles and adjustments as apposed to having huge rev rates have a hard time understanding the modern game. Our type of game is quickly getting lost in the sport of bowling. Times have changed.....
