I have been to the Hammer Demo days and most recently the Ebonite Demo days and both where great. Just be prepared, the balls you try are not going to fit your hand perfect, but they can get very close with the special thumb slugs they have. As fas as the grips, all they do is push the grips and in and not glue them. The holes are drilled smaller than normal so they are a tight fit and won't pop out. Also, all the balls are drilled with the pin under the ring as a generic drill. This will give you an idea of how the ball rolls and reacts. I have been told some bowling center/pro shops charge (like $15) for the demo days, both of the times I went, it was free.
They also gave me plenty of time to try them out. I felt no pressure at all to hurry up and get finished. I probably bowled 6 or so games each time.
All in all, I have had a great time the 2 times I have went to a demo days. Free bowling + new equipment to try out = lots of fun!!

If they only made a ball that would carry that d*mn 10 pin..
