I would like to see how everyone interprets the USBC rule book on this one.

I looked at the poll and realized 86% of the people are wrong.

And the other 13%, well they are wrong too.

It's zero for that ball, not zero for the frame.

I guess anyone who didn't answer it was correct.

Zero for the frame would be correct. It was the 12th frame,  not the 10th,  not the 11th.

There are only 10 frames per game in bowling, 15 if you're Amish (King Pin)

What you are calling the 11th, and 12th are just the bonus shots for the strike in the 10th.

And are often referred to as frames when on a 300. Apparently enough people understood with out having it spelled out in the poll.  There is plenty of 12th frame references to be found anywhere in bowling.

You can call it what you want, and others may understand what you mean, but that doesn't make it correct.


Send your kid out bowling, and when he comes back ask him if he had a good time.

If his answer is supercalifragilisticexpialidocious, you can be pretty sure what he meant, but it's still not a word.

Until it is hashtag on social media and used in a song enough that it later on gets accepted by society as a word and put in the dictionary. #Awesomesauce

Imagine you've been hired by the dictionary company to decide what new words deserve to be included in the dictionary.

A "word" like Awesomesauce belongs in some kind of slang dictionary, not Oxford.

So after a year, you've added no new words.

Your boss comes the conclusion they would have been better off leaving your position vacant.

The next year, (if you still have the job) you add the "word" not because it somehow deserves formal recognition, but for job security.

First I'd have to imagine a dictionary company exist and has more then one employee. No one has bought said product in close to 15+ years.

I guess that means you were just making up the story about the "word" Awesomesauce being added to the dictionary, and somehow hacked in onto the CNN website, because as you said, the dictionary company hasn't sold a book in 15 years, therefore couldn't have existed in 2015 for CNN to actually of reported on the story.

Back to the original post.....so what happens if said bowler in the video, actually knocks down pins on the other lane?

We had something similar happen in my league roughly 10 years ago.

Guy threw his ball, skidded right, dropped in the right channel. The sweep from the previous frame didn't sweep the dead wood back into the pit, so there was dead wood on the lane.

Ball hit the pin, bounced out of the channel, over his lane, on to the lane immediately to the left of him, and pured all 10 back into the pit.

Of course, he got 0 for that delivery. It didn't hurt him too bad, as it was really early in the game and he was coming off of a split and open frame. He subsequently spared.
