Your ball recommendation for me
« on: December 26, 2008, 05:42:01 AM »
Need your EXPERIENCED imput. No guesses please! I have bumped into the imperfect storm: aggressively drilled ball, dry 1st ten boards, slow speed. When I throw down and in I go high, when i move in a leave weak 10's. AM VERY TIRED OF THIS!!! I want a ball that will hit hard that i can throw 5-10 at approx 13mph around the ball(if you KNOW of a drilling too be my guest) The ball i use now is the Storm Rapin Fire Pearl. If you need more info let me know Thanks in advance.

You need to learn how to trick up your release if that is where you INSIST on playing.PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE is almost always beter than a new ball.

Rapid Fire Pearl drilled very weak....instead of aggressive...

Pretty much any recommendation without actually seeing you bowl and being on the same lanes as you will be a guess at best, just so you know.

If your ball speed is as slow as you say it is, a strong ball with an aggressive drill is of course going to be hooking too early.  If you need to move inside, you might have good luck with sanding the ball to a lower grit then applying polish, or you may be able to stay outside better with a weaker ball drilled for some length.  (Something like a Street Rod Pearl with a 5" pin to PAP).

Of course, working with a coach to improve your ball speed would be a good investment as well.  In fact, that'd be the very first thing I'd recommend rather than trying to work around it.

Or move on the lanes. If tou send a ball into the dry area too soon it will roll out and die, or make an aggresive move and go high. Play a tighter line on the lane. Try to keep the ball in the oil longer before it ends up in the dry are.
