This is the "your Idea Of A perfect Bowler" Game (I just made
), the general idea of the game is to pick a preference and add up the numbers next to the preference, I will then keep track of the combined numbers and will see what style is the most popular.
Speed Preference (choose one only)-
Low ball speed (10-15mph) 1
Medium ball speed (16-20mph) 2
High ball speed (21-25+) 3
Rotation Preferences (choose one for axis and tilt rotation)-
Low ammount of axis rotation (0-50 degrees) 1
High ammount of axis rotation (50-90 fegrees) 2
Low ammount of tilt (0-50 degrees) 3
High ammount of tilt (50-90 degrees) 4
Approach Preferences (choose one only)
4 (or less) steps 1
5 (or more) steps 2
RPM Preferences (choose only one)
0-250 RPMs 1
250-400 RPMs 2
400+RPMs 3
Arm Swing Preferences (choose only one)
Below shoulder high 1
Shoulder high 2
above shoulder high (head level) 3
Above head 4
NOTE: MORE REVS AND SPEED WILL RESULT IN LOSS OF ACCURACY AND OVERALL CONSISTANCY.
Have fun!!!!

What about accuracy/endurance? If accuracy and endurance are the same with anything, there is no reason not to choose the ultracranker. Afterall, the only reason people say not to be a cranker is due to accuracy, and sometimes being fatigued.
If we are supposed to worry about that, well then there's just way to many factors to make a choice.

I'm an 8! I doubt the other guy is really 8 - his profile says he throws 16mph.
I'm truly 8:
14.5 mph, 45* tilt and rotation, 225 revs, and my arm swing barely goes above my waist!
-
lol, super strokers are making a come back

The perfect bowler of course would be the one who threw nothing but strikes no matter what the hence, for all they would do is shoot 300 (hence perfect)
A better idea of a "perfect" bowler would be one who has medium ball speed who can vary depending on the amount of oil, has the ability to roll the ball end over end or side turn depending again on the condition, med/high revs would be helpful for the ability to open up a lane faster, but as far as steps/backswing goes I dont think that matters. I take 4 1/2 steps (first step is more of a sliding start ala Jason Couch) and my backswing is above he shoulders. If I am messing around so to speak and bowling in street shoes, I take 7 small steps, armswing stays the same, and ball speed/revs are the same, or relatively close. The main key here is spare shooting. I would rather be a very good spare shooter (rarely miss a single pin, multi pin conversions a few and far between as well) then one who can strike a bunch but stinks at spares (more so with crankers than strokers). Anybody can strike but if they can shoot spares that wont help them much in the score dept.

psst, you're supposed to add up for what you think is the perfect bowler stats, not your own. Unless you DO think you're the perfect bowler, in which case I'll direct you to the egomaniacs annonymous room.

Speed = 2
axis rotation = 1 or 2 (perfect bowler should be able to change to match conditions)
axis tilt =3
steps = 2
rpms = 2
swing = 2
total = 12 to 13.

35 and thensome
a "Perfect" Bolwer would do all of thoses things.
you forgot the most important factors thast make a good bolwer:
Concentration, Consistencny, awareness and a strong mental capacity.
everything on that list is more or less Just style preferrence.

u realise that this is not a critque of the way that you are. Its a critque of what you think that a good bowlwer should have

I agree w/ Omegabowler. Concentration, consistency and awareness are very important. The perfect bowler should be able to read the ball reaction on the lane and then be able to make alignment adjustments to move the breakpoint right or left. He should also be able to make axis rotation/tilt and speed adjustments to move the breakpoint closer or further from the pin deck.
So the perfect bowler could be ranked any were from 11 to 16 using your point system, but he must have the mental capacity to read the ball reaction make the the proper adjustment left to right and front to back.

...how about this analogy instead....
parker bohn's sweet release
robert smith's revs
jason couch's backswing

How about being versatile enough to do all of the above!!!!! That is what determines the perfect bowler. Someone that can open the swing up, raise the backswing over the head, get more rotation and tilt, and send the ball to the gutter, and can also tighten the swing at shoulder level, get medium rotation and tilt, and go straight up the lane. And also being able to do anything in between. NOW THAT'S A PERFECT BOWLER!!!!

Buffalo bowlers are the best all around in the country.
-
You need more variables in the axis tilt portion. The cutoff for a low-medium axis tilt is around 26.666. Anything above that is getting to be pretty high/unusual. So of course everyone is going to pick the under 45 degrees.

Yeah, I realize that, but most of the people seem to be giving their own numbers.
Obviously, I'm far from perfect - just check my profile! I was putting that out that as more of an example that maybe 8 would be far from the perfect number!
Laner7 is correct - the perfect bowler is the one that bowls 300 all the time! But more realistically it's the person that can adjust their game to the conditions. I'd love to be able to say that I could adjust my style to achieve any of the possible numbers, but I haven't been bowling long enough to do that yet. Heck, I can't even master my pathetic style as it is!
BTW - Tonight I was perfect - I missed every single 10 pin and right side spare! How's that for consistency?
